''Azerbaijan is planning to achieve a renewable energy production capacity of 5 GW by 2030'', said president Ilham Aliyev on the opening ceremony of XI Global Baku Forum.

"In October of last year, we opened the largest solar power plant in the Caucasus and Central Asia with a capacity of 230 megawatts. Preparation and construction works are underway for two more plants." Referring to the press service of the President of Azerbaijan, we inform you that President Ilham Aliyev expressed this opinion in his speech at the opening ceremony of the XI Global Baku Forum on the theme "Restoration of the broken world", which started in Baku on March 14. "We plan to have a renewable energy production capacity of 5,000 megawatts by 2030. This is a completely realistic goal, as numerous agreements and memorandums of understanding have been signed for this. At present, we are actively engaged in the construction of a green energy electric cable that will stretch from the Caspian Sea to the Black Sea and Europe, and the technical justification of that project is almost ready," the President of Azerbaijan noted.
