As Azerbaijan continues expanding renewable energy
generation, significant investments are being directed toward strengthening the country’s
electricity transmission infrastructure. The integration of new solar and wind energy projects
into the national grid requires large-scale modernization and expansion works across the energy
system.
Within this framework, major infrastructure projects (AZURE) supported by the World Bank are
currently being implemented in Azerbaijan. The works include the construction of 500 kV and 330 kV
overhead transmission lines, as well as high-capacity substations intended to support the
transmission of renewable energy across the country.
The financing mechanism is implemented through credit facilities allocated by the World Bank to
the Government of Azerbaijan. The funds are managed through the relevant state institutions, while
construction activities are carried out by contractors selected through procurement
procedures.
As part of the involved consortium, Energazer contributes by providing technical supervision and
monitoring services for infrastructure works implemented within the framework of these energy
projects.
These developments represent an important step toward strengthening Azerbaijan’s energy
infrastructure, supporting renewable energy integration, and improving long-term grid reliability
and sustainability.
